We all know, that AMD has been loosing the CPU performance battle against Intel for some time now and while we are hoping, they will get bigger and stronger to get the competition with Intel going again, guys over at AnandTech are doing benchmarks and writing reviews to let us in on the latest news. They have discovered, that Latest Phenom II X3 and X4 processors can compete with Intel's processors if we leave i7 CPUs out of the battle. AMD X4 is a fair component to Q9550 in gaming tests, but we have to say, that in software benchmarks it gets left behind for quite a bit. Something AMD platform has to offer is a great price. Processors and motherboards are considerably cheaper than those of Intel, so they can be recommended to anyone, who is short on budget but still wants to have the latest hardware and play latest games. If you consider yourself a serious gamer or you deal with some other CPU power demanding application, then Intel is still the way to go. New AM3 platform and DDR3 memory have not done enough for AMD to stand up against its competition.
