| Both AMD and Nvidia Release WHQL Windows 7 drivers |
|
Even though both companies had working Windows 7 drivers out there, none of them were WHQL certified until now. With the latest drivers you can take all advantages your video cards have to offer - including Power DVD hardware video acceleration, which is known for requiring WHQL drivers to work. Both these drivers support Microsoft’s display driver model WDDM 1.1 when using a DirectX 10 GPU. This will enable you to use Microsoft’s ClearType technology with full anti-aliasing on fonts, for example. Nvidia's WHQL drivers can be downloaded here and AMD's here. Have you already moved to Windows 7? Release candidate 1 is free and you can use it without any limitations until March 1st 2010. In my opinion it is a great operating system, so I recommend you to give it a try. Â
